Ecommerce Tips and Tricks
It can be difficult getting your ecommerce business off the ground. Once you have the basics down, the products selected, website designed and promotion in place, what can you do to improve things? There are plenty of ecommerce tips and tricks to get your business moving faster than the competition. So, without further ado, let's take a look at some of them.
- Consider starting a blog. Whether on your ecommerce site or separately, you can start a blog to bring attention to your website. By their very nature, blogs bring in lots of search engines fast and repeat visitors. As long as you are posting useful information several times a week, people will visit your blog. You can list it in blog directories and link back to your ecommerce site at every chance you get!
- Creating fresh content is a good way to bump yourself up in the search engines as well. By adding articles weekly or more often to your ecommerce site, you stand a much better chance of the major search engines like Google checking you out on a regular basis.
- Keep your website simple and easy to navigate. That means eliminating unnecessary graphics and Flash animations, so you have a nice clean site. Also, contact and order information should be very obvious on every single page. Don't create subdirectories of subdirectories, everything on your site should be within two clicks of the home page.
- Stay focused by choosing your product niche and sticking with it. For example, if you sell used medical equipment, don't expand into used books. If you want to start another area, set up a second website so you don't confuse visitors.
- Double check your links. Simply by visiting your own ecommerce website and clicking on the links to make sure they work, you can save a lot of complaints and lost sales. No one likes a broken link and many people will simply leave your site instead of reporting it.
- Take advantage of your meta tags. They can actually get you a higher ranking on the search engines, so use them!
- Set up a merchant account so you can accept credit cards online. This will boost your sales dramatically. Also, being able to accept major payment services such as e-Gold and PayPal will help you make more sales since people trust these sites.
- Don't ramble in your product descriptions. People want to know the features and benefits in a few seconds and won't usually read anything longer than 2-4 lines, so keep it short! Web surfers have short attention spans.
- Update your information frequently. If you change your prices, make sure that the change is reflected on every page. This avoids a messy looking site with contradictive information in different areas.
By following the tips given in this article, you will find yourself boosting the visibility and popularity of your website. This is vital in maintaining your ecommerce site ahead of the competition!

Can You Start an Online Business With No Money
What is needed to be done to start an online business, but short on cash to invest? A lot of times when I'm browsing through forums I come across people's posts who are new to internet marketing and want to start businesses online. They crave to be successful like the top marketers like Joe Vitale, Terry Dean and others who make a good living online. Yet, many feel it takes quite a bit of cash to start and don't feel they can afford it right now.
To run any business online you of course will cost a little money for web hosting and a domain name. But hosting can be found free with ads and domain names cost around $5. I will show you some things here to help you build your own product and market it for $0. You will want to switch to paid hosting, which is usually about $20 a month (to get rid of the ads) to be more professional to your customers as soon as you start making some advertising money you can invest some back into your business.
You should first (and most importantly in your business plan) make out a list of the skills you have acquired. You may have vast knowledge of an area you have learned at work. Maybe you know more than one language. Or, your hobbies are a great teacher of skills such as in an area of sports.
Now, take a look at your list of skills and find ones that you know would be of interest to other people to learn. Take for example, you love fishing, you wish you could just fish all day long. You know you have areas of expertise in fishing and know others love fishing. Take your knowledge and make a monthly tips course out of it that people would pay to subscribe to. Since you are the expert there is no need to pay someone else to give you information.
Take for another example, my latest ebook #1 on Google in 2 Days. I have been internet marketing for 5 years and have expertise in this niche. When an article of mine jumped to the top of Google, quickly beating out all competition, I analyzed what I exactly had done and made a step by step book of it. Then I made a free download page giving it away to help grow my email list.
And the best part is it was free, I just supplied my knowledge. To actually make the product I did use my Adobe and Snag-it programs. But, you can find similar programs free on the internet. If not a friend probably has programs you could use to build it.
You can still start an online business without a lot of cash, a first option to raise money in your new business is to use your existing knowledge and skill you have picked up in a particular field. The list is probably long; things learned at work, hobbies, or just anything you have a great interest in and have learned a lot about. And, it will be from your own personal view, showing tips and unique ideas. Share and profit by your knowledge.

PLR Content Articles Provide Cheap Quality Web Content
Buying PLR content articles is quickly turning into the fastest and simplest way to purchase content for a site. In searching for information, have you ever come across a site that had such poorly written content that he site immediately became less credible? Probably. I know I’ve seen it more than I care to. When this happens it turns a useful site into a freak show. It makes you wonder why site owners aren’t investing in some decent web content instead of trying to write it themselves or outsourcing it to people who speak English as a third language. There are some site owners who simply can’t afford to buy original content from a web content writer, and that is understandable. Paying very little for original content is a guarantee that it won’t be any good. Paying $20 per article can be expensive. You get high-quality web content at that price, but the price tag can add up to a lot.
For those who can’t afford to buy good, original content, there is PLR content. It can be just as good, depending on the writer, and it’s much, much cheaper. By buying a set of PLR articles, there’s no waiting period while the articles are being written and there’s no going into debt to get it done. It should be possible to find PLR articles in your specific topic, or you may decide to create a site around the PLR content that you do find. PLR content articles can be used to populate blogs and websites of all descriptions. These articles are typically sold a certain number of times and are then discontinued from the PLR site.
However, the number of times that a PLR article is sold, even if it is hundreds of times, will not make it likely that anyone searching for the keywords will find the articles more than once. One reason is that the articles will not all be use for the same types of websites. One more reason is that everyone who buys the articles will not be using them- some may buy them just to read the articles themselves, and some may buy them to fill a website that never gets started. And last of all, it is not likely to ever happen because the web has billions of sites, and a few hundred duplicates aren’t even the tiniest drop in the bucket.
High-quality PLR articles, written by a professional writer with years of experience, can be found at theplr.com
Sony Hdd Camcorders - Lack Of A Proven Buying Method Can Hurt You
Sony Hdd Camcorders have been bought over the Internet 641 instances over the last 30 days. Pretty much all of these 641 purchases were found on an online auction site. The information in this article will cover the pros and cons of deciding to buy Sony Hdd Camcorders through an online auction site. You will learn information about pricing that will be very helpful when you start deciding which is the best option for Sony Hdd Camcorders.
The options available for consumers looking to purchase Sony Hdd Camcorders are more numerous than anything anyone could have envisioned a few years ago. The online marketplace, and especially Internet auction sites are the primary reason for this growth. When examining the last 30 days, Sony Hdd Camcorder auction sales have generated total revenue of $300, 151.14. They were listed for sale 1,091 times according to the data available. Among the 1,091 different times they were listed, 554 succeeded in being sold. So the average rate of success was 50.78%, which means that there were approximately 15 sellers who were actively offering Sony Hdd Camcorders on the Internet every day.
Since we already have a good idea of the situation regarding shopping at online auctions, let's look more closely at the purchases themselves and what was spent. The average amount spent on Sony Hdd Camcorders was $468.25. The highest winning bid was $1, 499.95. The purchase price of the lowest successful auction was $6.99. But on average, most people doing their shopping online successfully bid at around $325.99. Another way to look at this is if you use a target at or anywhere below $325.99, you are getting a good deal.
When you seriously start looking for Sony Hdd Camcorders, if it's at an auction site, the first thing to look for had best be the featured items section. It varies with the auction site you're on but generally, these can be things that are put up by category, or you might find them in a more general category for the whole website. Featured items sell faster than the regular listings do, and because of this they also have a better chance of ending successfully. When you look at the past 30 days, 42 Sony Hdd Camcorders were listed specifically in a category of other similar items. Among all 42 listings, 20 resulted in a successful sale. So featured listings have had a success rate of 47.62%.
Now what we'll concentrate on is what is referred to as the listing type. When putting up their Sony Hdd Camcorders on one of the many auction websites, sellers might choose to offer them for one day, or as many as ten days. Statistically, the best listings to look at first are Bid-Auctions listings because the average amount that you can expect to pay is $352.50. If Bid-Auctions auction listings are not there, then look at auctions for Multiple-Item listings. Multiple-Item listings have a very respectable closing price of $402.56.
Knowing upfront what to expect is something that will pay off in what you will end up paying for your purchases. You need to be very certain that you know all about Sony Hdd Camcorders when you start searching for the best prices. When you start to look around for pricing information on auction sites, refer to the information we have given you here and make sure that you know the average price, so that you will know you are placing a good bid on Sony Hdd Camcorders. If featured categories are a part of the auction site you use, be sure to look at those closely because many times they will offer the best deals. Another tip is to try to time your shopping on the days of the week when you're most likely to pay the lowest price, and you will increase your chances that you will probably be happy with your winning bid on Sony Hdd Camcorders.
Tools to Research High Paying AdSense Keywords
In order to find the right tools to research high paying AdSense keywords, it is important to know what information you want o know about keywords. It would be just great if there were a tool that told everyone exactly what Google pays for each keyword, but that doesn't exist and anyone who creates such a tool is certain to be barred from Google forever because it is a clear violation of the terms and conditions of having an AdSense account to reveal any income information to anyone else.
You can use Adwords keyword tool to select keywords and you'll get some information. But there are many, many great tools out there that will help you select the right keywords for your AdSense campaign focus. Look for only those tools that provide information about the number of searches performed, the number of competing websites and a "guestimate" of profitability.
WordTracker is probably the best known and most popular tool for finding keywords that are profitable and that have little competition. However, it does entail a subscription fee so that you want to subscribe for the period that you will actually use the tool and no longer. You can subscribe for a day, a week or a month, or indefinitely. Only those people who use the tool frequently should consider an indefinite subscription due to the high cost.
NicheBot is a free tool that is really handy for this. Unlike WordTracker which costs quite a bit for a subscription, this tool has just about everything you need or want and it is absolutely free to use. It is web-based and perhaps not quite as fast as WordTracker, but it works just great. And it is being upgraded all the time with new features.
KeyWordDiscovery offers a free trial period, after which there is a subscription fee. However, it is a reasonably popular tool for keyword researching.
Overture Keyword Research Tool is another free tool that you can use. It gives you the information you need but the output is based on Overture search engines and you would do much better to get Google search engine results.
To find the right tools for you, try several of the free tools you'll find with a simple Internet search. You may find one that meets your needs very well. If not, then it is time to begin using some of the subscription services.
However the absolute King Of Keyword Research is Keyword Elite, with the push of a button you have all the keywords you can dream of for your adwords campaign or adsense website. Make sure to pay them a visit and check out the videos and tutorials with true life examples.
Sustainable Online Business Model For Professional Blogging
Part of launching a successful online business via various internet marketing models is establishing a sustainable business model or a framework of idea that can help your home business succeed.
This list of tips on sustainability is in no way complete or comprehensive. It is a partial overview of how one can attain a stable mold for a home business that is based primarily on professional blogging.
1. Steer clear of insular blogging : Insular blogging or blogging without promoting one's own blog site or web site is pretty rampant in the web. There are many bloggers who subscribe to this kind of practice. However, for an online business or any home business venture, this is not advisable.
First of all, creating links and back links with other bloggers, blog sites and web sites will increase the traffic to your home business site. Insular blogging will definitely not. Most online business entrepreneurs agree that more traffic means more cash flow. Think of blogging then, as one of the internet marketing business tools that you can use in order to promote, (what else?) your blog.
2. Work on and maintain more than one blog : If possible, try to work on and maintain more than one blog or blog site. In order to do so, you need to write more prolifically, without sacrificing the quality of your contents or the relevancy of your topics to your intended discourse. For example you launch a bookseller home business or online business with only one blog? this is far too simple to generate a respectable income if at all.
Suppose then, that you launch the same business, using various blog sites which are linked with your other blog sites; which in turn are also linked with other bloggers, blog sites and web sites that are relevant to your discourse.
This will generate enough traffic for you bookseller home business blog. If you are then hoping for a book or e-book sale, this strategy just might also generate you enough interest with your intended market. At the very least, having multiple blogs and blog sites will ensure that monetary revenues come from various sources.
3. Work on your site like you mean it : Nothing defeats good intentions than the loss of initiative. Like most internet marketing business strategies, in order to succeed in your home business venture, you need to work on your blogs like you really mean.
Try getting yourself motivated to a point of fanatical frenzy. You are facing thousands of competitions in the World Wide Web, and there are of course pitfalls that all online business entrepreneurs must go through.
If you give up easily after a couple of measly sales, or if you become lazy with your writing, then you cannot outperform your competitors. In other words, why become a professional blogger when you don't want to blog at a professional pace?
4. Find a niche that you can exploit : Finding your own niche in the great scheme of internet marketing business is a rather tedious task replete with in-depth research and test marketing.
Not everyone succeeds in their chosen niches. Niches are basically discourses: topics that people discuss. Almost everything has its own niche / discourse. The key is finding one that has a small population of takers among the many internet marketing business niches. A small population is a relative term that is dependent on the niche you wish to exploit. Specialization is usually the order for such discourses.
Again, we go back to your bookseller home business, as example. Booksellers / bookselling are too broad a topic now. You may want to limit yourself to something like selling e-books about making money on the web. But that too is a broad topic. So you may want to limit yourself further to selling e-books about making money via niche marketing; niche marketing via book marking; and so on and so forth.
The more you specialize in your discourse, the smaller your niche becomes. This makes it a viable and potential profitable niche. Your bookseller home business can literally make a killing with this discourse provided of course, that your blogs / blog sites / web sites are actually full of interesting data.
Of course, marking yourself off in this manner also means you actually know what you are writing about. Internet users are finicky and can often spot a fake, so do try to research your discourses first before you launch them.

Streaming Video On Your Website
Streaming video is one of the hottest things on the internet today; no matter how brilliant your website design is you need video on a webpage in today's internet marketing arena. If it is hard to reach and understand the content of your site then your site is as useful as an empty shell, the use of streaming video is one of the best ways to capture visitor's attention. Using streaming audio and video broadcasting along with the following tips will help to improve the usability of your website to ensure it serves its functions optimally.
The first method is to make sure the online video content of your website is suitable. If you have large blocks of text, make sure to use CSS to space out the lines accordingly along with the audio which is communicated in the streaming video. The streaming audio and video broadcasting message can use a suitable actor (or yourself) to convey your message.
The longer a single line of text is, the greater the line-height of each line should be. Also, make sure the font size of your text is big enough to read easily and relate to the content of the streaming video. Some sites have 10-pixel-tall text in Verdana font; while that may look neat and tidy, you have to really strain your eyes to read the actual text. This is one reason why having video on a webpage will take your internet marketing efforts to the next level.
Streaming video makes it easier for visitors to find content that they want on your site. If you have thousands of articles on your site having video on a webpage will help certaint visitors to find and relate to specific articles from the pile of articles and information on your site.
You have to provide a feasible means to enable visitors to navigate your site without hassle, using streaming video will set your site apart from the competition. Be it an SQL-driven database search engine or just a glossary or index of articles and information that you have, providing such a feature such as online video will have a marked positive effect on your internet marketing efforts.
Ensuring that your site loads (streaming video will have an effect on this) fast is one thing you will need to pay attention to if you do not want to lose visitors. Most internet marketing users will leave a website if it doesn't load completely within 15 seconds, so make sure the creme de la creme of your website is delivered to the visitors as soon as possible to retain their attention by using video on a webpage. This is one reason why it is important to use quality streaming video.
It is also important to test each and every link on your site before it goes online. There is nothing more effective in tarnishing your professional image than broken links, so be very careful about that.
When it comes to your website and the use of streaming video; extra attention should be paid to every minute detail to make sure it performs optimally to serve its purpose. Here are some important rules of thumb to observe to make sure your website with online video performs well.
Use clear and simple navigation options :-You ought to provide a simple and very straightforward navigation menu along with your streaming video so that even a young child will know how to use it. You are advised to stay away from complicated flash based menus or multi-tiered dropdown menus when used in conjunction with streaming video. If your visitors don't know how to navigate, they will leave your site.
Provide a clear indication of where the user is :-
When visitors are deeply engrossed in browsing your site and watching and listening to your online video, you will want to make sure they know which part of the site they are in at that moment so the script needs to be written accordingly. That way, they will be able to browse relevant information or navigate to any section of the site easily as instructed by the message in the streaming video.
At all costs you should make sure that you do not confuse your visitors because confusion means that they will leave your website quickly and the use of streaming video within your internet marketing strategies will prove to increase your visitor's attention span and lead to increasing revenues in the long run.

Streaming Video Has High Potential
Using streaming video in order to have video on a webpage is one of the easiest ways to create a product for sale on the Internet, and it can be a very profitable business. Even though it's easier to publish a book than ever before, it's possible to create a video product and use online video in a fraction of the time required to create a book as streaming video is one of the hottest trends in internet marketing today.
When you consider the amount of time it takes for a book by a new author to be accepted by a publisher, edited, manufactured, distributed, and marketed, several years can go by before authors see any revenue for all their hard work. Self-publishing is a good alternative for authors to consider, but the production and marketing costs can be very high. The creation of streaming video products for sale on the Internet is a much easier way to generate a revenue stream. Yes having video on a webpage will set you apart from the competition as online video is hot right now.
The art of streaming video publishingIf you're already convinced that the creation of video products is a powerful Internet marketing tool to drive traffic and sales, here are some important questions to consider before you jump into the production process:
Are you a good communicator? Can you tell a story? Can you explain how to do something in simple terms? Do you have specialized knowledge that can be turned into a product that gives value to customers? If you answered "yes" to these questions, you have all the knowledge and experience you need to create a video product and use streaming video that can generate a nice revenue stream. It takes experienced authors from six months to a year to write a book, but even first-time internet marketing video producers can plan, script, film, and edit a professional-quality video product in six weeks and have online video for all to see.
Who will shoot your online video ? If you have a webcam with a built-in microphone, you already have experience shooting home videos. If you don't have a webcam, you can probably partner with someone who has a lot of experience and have video on a webpage in no time at all.
Who will edit your streaming video ? Even a 15-minute video can take several hours to edit professionally. If you've been practicing with home videos, now is the time to show your skills on the Internet. If you've never edited before, you can find someone to look at your raw footage and teach you how to do some simple editing, which will improve the quality of the finished video product enormously. Video companies generally charge from $50 to $100 an hour, depending on the effects you want edited into your product.
The power of streaming video products on the Worldwide Web
Video podcasting and vlogging are tools that offer unlimited potential for increasing traffic within your internet marketing strategies for your web site or blog and for creating revenue streams through the sale of video products or sale of other products by having streaming audio and video broadcasting. Individual video content producers can create revenues streams from successful videos that last for years. Some video publishers tend to produce almost 30 videos that have given the producer a monthly income between $8,000 and $10,000 dollars for over four years. This video publisher reports that most of these videos in his internet marketing campaigns are still selling-and not one has lost money. This gives further weight to the trend of using streaming video on your website.

A Simple Guide To Creating An Information Resource
Looking for a step by step method to create a content site, grow it bigger and turn it into profits? This blueprint will show you how to do it.
Step #1 - Niche Research
Niche research can be a tough task.
One of the best ways to do it is to look for a problem many people are facing, and then offer a solution. Another is to follow hot trends, or better still, be ahead of the curve. A third is to focus on 'timeless' niches like self improvement, dating, pregnancy or travel. One more way is to follow your passion or area of expertise - as long as enough others are interested in what you do.
Some resources that will help you are online discussion forums, chat groups, news websites, magazine sites, and trend watching sites.
After doing your niche research, the next step is to look for the top keywords in your chosen niche. Again, there are a wealth of resources, tools and services that will let you do this quickly and effectively.
Try and get a list of at least fifty keywords, popular ones, to build your content around.
Step #2 - Setting Up Your Framework
I like using an integrated framework that has a content management system, an interactive section and a convenient 'relationship building' vehicle - all working together seamlessly.
And surprisingly enough, setting this up is not very difficult!
First, set up a blog to be your content management system.
Why a blog?
1. It is easy to set up, even if you are not tech-savvy.
2. It is naturally search engine optimized, with a structured linking pattern which ensures each section of your blog is connected so a spider can explore every nook and cranny.
3. It allows simple, effective keyword optimization.
4. It does not require HTML coding or fancy programming to get going.
5. It naturally encourages updating - on a regular schedule.
6. Search engines love them - and so do other bloggers - giving you near instant traffic.
7. They come with RSS feeds which allow another promotional vehicle and distribution channel for your content.
Convinced? Good.
Next, integrate your blog with your forum/bulletin board.
Essentially, the link at the top of the blog points to your forum. Also place another link to the forum below every blog post, with an invitation to discuss the article/post. You can set this into the template of your blog, if you know how. Otherwise, simply copy and paste the link into every blog post that you make.
Third, you set up an autoresponder account which you will integrate with the forum and blog.
Aweber will automatically pull content from your blog and mail it out to your email list on a schedule you decide. You can choose to include 1, 2 or more posts, have them inserted into a template that you can customize, and have it mailed automatically or only when you approve it.
What you get, in essence, is an automated email newsletter created from the content you post on your blog!
Then, to encourage your site visitors, blog readers and forum members to join your autoresponder list and receive notifications, you place your opt-in form on the blog and forum - offering suitable inducements to encourage as many as you want to opt-in.
Step #3 - Creating Your Content
There are many different ways to get content. You can create it yourself. You can hire someone to do it for you. You can license someone else's content. Or you can buy packs of pre-created content (with resale rights, or private label rights) and customize them.
Which route you go depends upon your available resources (time, skill, money) and how you prefer to run your business.
Try and focus on creating 'chunks' of content that is optimized for each of your keywords. For instance, create 5 to 7 articles around the theme of your top keyword. Then another group of articles on your next keyword. Then, put them into their own 'minisite' - and link to them from your blog, forum and ezine!
This way, you create multiple 'keyword rich zones' - each of which is tied in to your main content resource, giving you the best of both worlds... huge content resource on a specific theme, plus tiny segments laser focused tightly on specific keywords.
Step #4 - Optimizing Your Content & Blog
The key to profiting from online content is to make sure the resource you are building ranks high on search engines for your chosen keywords, offers valuable content for human visitors interested in your niche, and is regularly updated with fresh, useful content.
Master these 3 and you can't keep the traffic away if you wanted to!
Here are a few tips to optimize a blog:
- Create categories and name them with your keywords (Wordpress and Movable Type let you do this)
- Add Technorati tags to your blog posts, and sprinkle your best keywords (ones related to the blog post)
- Place a list of your top keywords somewhere on the blog as a navigation menu - and link each of them to the specific keyword-rich minisite you created
- Make your blog username one of your top keywords. For example, if you set up your username to be '[Your Keyword] Guide', then every post will have 'Posted by [Your Keyword] Guide' below it - adding to your blog's keyword optimization
- To the end of every post, add descriptive links like:
"Discuss this [Keyword] post on the [Keyword] Forum"
"Share this [Keyword] article with your friend"
"Permalink to this [Keyword] post"
Get creative. There are many places you can insert your keywords for better optimization.
And after you've done this, go ahead and do the same with your content.
Make each post you make on the blog focus on one of your top keywords. By rotating posts around, you can ensure your blog gets listings of all your top keywords over time!

What is a Wholesale Distributor
The wholesale distributor is so vital to manufacturers and retailers that they simply could not exist nor survive without them. So, what are they, how do they work and how do we tell if they are legitimate or not?
Many do not know exactly what the wholesale distributor is, what makes them so important, to the whole process of creating and selling a product to the customer. The answer to this question is very simple, and understanding the answer will provide you a chunk of knowledge that will aid you in the search for your first or next wholesale distributor.
The wholesale distributor buys from the manufacturer at the lowest price available to them through negotiation and long-time exchange. One example of this would be an electronic mp3 player. The manufacturer produces the mp3 player in mass quantity. They focus mostly on creating the best mp3 player on the market. They spotlight making it better, faster, have more storage, have better audio and many other details.
After the item is produced, the wholesale distributor comes in and negotiates the price. This is so important to the entire process as this is how the product reaches the public consumer. This gives the wholesale distributor some bargaining ability to get a very good price. The manufacturer acknowledges that they could not make it without the wholesaler.
Once the deal is made, the wholesale distributor takes their large purchase and integrates it into their massive inventory consisting of many other related products. This expands their line of goods to make them more attractive to the retailers.
The wholesale distributor then begins promoting this new electronic mp3 player by contacting their retailers and offering them deals, specials or whatever it takes to get the new product onto the retail market. They sell these new items to the retailers for an increased price to allow the wholesale distributor to make a profit. However, they attempt to keep the price low enough to be competitive and to enable the retailer to purchase the product at a fair enough price to allow them to be profitable as well.
Most of you reading this are not wholesale distributors; you are most likely to be retailers looking for product sources. This is where you come into the process. You will contact the wholesale distributor to obtain a wholesale price list. There are many ways to go about this, but remember, the majority of wholesale distributors will want to verify that you are a legit business before the reveal their inventory and their wholesale pricing.
To verify that you are a legit business to the wholesale distributor, you will most likely need a business license from the state that you operate within and an EIN number given to you by the IRS. These two items make you a solid and trustworthy business. This is a positive thing when the distributor verifies this information. If they will sell to those that are not legitimate businesses, they are not legitimate wholesale distributors. They would simply be middle-men placing themselves between you and the true wholesale distributor.
To clarify a bit more about the exact definition of a wholesale distributor, remember that according to U.S. Industry and Trade Outlook, published by The McGraw-Hill Companies and the U.S. Department of Commerce/International Trade Administration, wholesale trade includes establishments that sell products to retailers, merchants, contractors and/or industrial, institutional and commercial users. Wholesale distributors do not sell to consumers. If you observe that you have a potential wholesaler that does sell to the consumer, drop them like a bad habit.
Why would I advise you to run from the above scenario in which the wholesale distributor is selling to the public? Well, how can you compete? In all actuality, you will be purchasing products at a discount and not wholesale. It would be like shopping at a sale at your local retail store. You are not getting the best price and therefore are not going to make the profit necessary to maintain a solid business.
A true wholesale distributor could possibly offer their products to the consumer. This does happen at times. Ensure that you examine this practice closely. About the only situation that I may do business with a wholesaler that retails is when they offer their products to the public at bulk buy rates. I would ensure that they would still offer my retail company a significant better deal than the consumer is getting. Otherwise, the profit is not there.
There you have a good understanding of the wholesale distributor. You know what the function is and how they fit into the commerce process. You now know to do a bit of research into things such as the pricing of the wholesale goods, whether they sell to the public and whether they verify your company as a legit business.

But of course, with the versatility that internet marketing offers, there are many ways you could find that could help optimize the potential of your website or internet business in generating website traffic.
While there are ways to jumpstart your website traffic flows, many sites don't have the resources that others have to generate more traffic for your site. Well, you don't have to spend a cent; all you need is the proper mindset and a lot of eagerness. You also must have the drive and perseverance to do hard work and research to generate more traffic for your site.
How sweet it is to have more website traffic for your site without spending a single cent. Now it's a sure thing that many sites have articles that offer tips and guidelines in how to generate traffic using only free methods. Because it is possible, you don't need to speed a single cent, it may take time, to say honestly, I'm not going to beat around the bush with you. You will get better chances by paying for your advertisements, but at least you get a fighting chance with some of these free methods discussed in this article that you can use in your internet marketing business.
Take advantage of online forums and online communities. The great thing about forums and online communities is that you can target a certain group that fits the certain demographic that you are looking for. With the use of niche marketing you can discuss lots of things about that you represent or offer. Another great advantage is that you know what you are getting into and that you will be prepared in your internet business.
With online communities and forums you can build a reputation for your company and increase website traffic. Show them what you are made of and wow them with your range of expertise about the subject, with that you can build a reputation and build trust with the people in your expertise and knowledge.
You can also make use of newsletters. Provide people with a catalog of your products and interesting and entertaining articles. If you make it really interesting and entertaining, more people will sign up for your newsletter and recommend it to other people. The more people who signs up for your newsletter, the more people there will be that will go to your site increasing your website traffic.
Another great idea is trading links with other sites. You don't have to spend a cent. All you have to do is reach an agreement with another webmaster. With exchanging links, the efforts both sites do will benefit both sites. All the website traffic that goes to the site could potentially click on the link of your site and visit your site as well. This works well especially when both sites feature the same niche.
Write articles that could pique the attention of people that have interest in your product or services. Try writing articles that will provide tips and guides to other aficionados. Writing articles that provide good service and knowledge to other people would provide the necessary mileage your traffic flow needs.
There are many websites out there that offer free submission and posting of your articles to help with your internet business. When people find interest in your articles you have a good change that they will follow the track by finding out where the article originated. Include a link or a brief description of your company with the article and there's a great probability that they will go to your site.
Write good content for your site as this will lead to more website traffic. Many search engines track down the keywords and keyword phrases your site uses and how they are used. It is not a requirement that the content should be done by a professional content writer but the use of niche marketing is desirable always. You could do it all on your own but you will have to make content for your site that is entertaining as well as informational in order to enhance your internet business and to generate more website traffic. It should provide certain requirements as well as great quality. Generally, internet marketing users use search engines to find what they are looking for. Search engines in return use keyword searching in aiding their search results. With the right keywords, you could get high rankings in search engine results without the costs.
All of these methods and more will drive more website traffic to your site for free. All it takes is a bit of effort and extended man hours or you can get someone to do it for you of course ! Learn all you can about the methods depicted here and you will soon have a site with a great website traffic flow without the usual costs that come with it.

How To Make A Connection With Other Internet Entrepreneurs
I would like to share with you the experience that I have that might be useful for you to apply when contacting some internet marketers out there. These tips are based on myself making a connection with other internet marketers and vice versa.
"Hi, Can you help me make money online?"
"Please let me know your phone number. I would like to talk to you about internet marketing."
"Hello, would you mind meeting me 1-on-1?"
These are the typical emails that many internet marketers receive everyday.
I receive them too and let me share what I think about them with you today. Hopefully, some of you who have the same experience wouldn't mind sharing some tips too.
OK, here's what I think are the problems (and the solutions)
1. Your questions are too general that nobody can solve your problems by replying with one email.
Take an example of "help me make money online". Would you be able to write a 5 line email reply and solve the problem?
If you can't, most probably the person you ask won't be able to answer too.
Although some internet marketers are helpful, they can be very busy sometimes (yes, I mean busy like working hard). So, when they are swamped with questions that are too general and there are 5 other emails which are reasonably descriptive enough to have a quick reply, you bet that these 5 would be answered first. The other questions might or might not be answered.
So, be sure that you write a good question and don't dump everything that you want to ask in one email.
2. You ask for some personal info which some marketers are reluctant to give.
For example, there are many internet marketers who prefer to remain under the radar and don't want to be contacted other than by email. Some even use pseudo name to protect their identity and don't want to be contacted at all.
Now, if you are emailing this group of internet entrepreneurs for a phone number or a meet up, chances are your request won't be entertained at all.
These entrepreneurs can also be well-known internet marketers and they might be a lot of people in their contact lists already. If they don't know who you are, it makes it harder for you to obtain more personal details like the phone number and personal email address.
Take note that there are a lot of internet entrepreneurs working solo.
3. You ask for a meet up when these marketers don't even know you.
It's like setting up a blind date especially when you don't even introduce yourself and explain the reasons why you're asking for the meeting.
Yes, you could be somebody who is widely-known among your contacts and you could even be a very successful business person. But, lets be fair because internet marketers might probably know only what's in their world - meaning that they might not even know who's the second richest man in the world.
So, get to know these entrepreneurs first or make an effort for them to know you before you request for a meeting. Remember that it's relationship that counts and it takes time to build a good relationship.
In short, even if you are desperate to get in touch with successful internet entrepreneurs, there's always a way to approach them.
For example, look in the forums where they frequent and participate in the discussion so that the next time you contact them, they know that they've seen you somewhere. Attend seminars and gatherings that these entrepreneurs go.
Buy their products because normally internet marketers take care of their customers more than someone they don't know, and that is common sense. Once you email them and talk about the product that you've bought, they'll probably remember you the next time you contact them.
And lastly, contact them more than once and do it properly so that you don't become a pester or an annoying soul.
I hope these tips that I'm sharing with you will help you build a better connection with the internet marketers you're dying to meet.

Four Tips on Building an Online Presence for Your Business
In a day and age when the Internet is mushrooming and there are virtually no corners on the globe left that are not connected or at least connectable, as a business you will have to have an online presence to stay competitive. Of course, building an online presence for your company is not as easy as it sounds, and the number one mistake made by those who might be small business owners is to do it themselves and cut costs wherever possible. This leads to a host of sites that look or feel simply unprofessional.
Here are four tips on building an online presence for your company:
1. Hire a professional web designer and ask to see samples of their work. You want to see currently working sites that have been put together by the outfit to ensure that you like what the finished product would look like. It is too easy to be wowed by a web designer's low price tag only to later end up with a site that is either run of the mill - as it the case with many software programs that only offer for one or two variations on a theme - or so packed full of slow loading graphics and flash footage that some consumers who are still not up to date with computing items will be left out.
2. If you decide to go it alone, pay to have your site hosted. While a free host sounds good, your website will also become an advertising solution for the free host. Thus, you will have to display banners, ads, pop ups, and other undesirable bits and pieces in order to have that free site set up. Instead, purchase your domain name and pay for the hosting.
3. Do not overproduce your site. This applies especially to first time webmasters. It is so tempting to add as many "drag and drop" elements on a site as possible. Resist the urge to have email buttons, counters, guest books, weather forecasts, map functions and other items on your site all jostled together. Instead, each page of your web site should be clear, concise, and quick loading. Furthermore, the less links you offer, the less chance there is for a broken link. Consistently stay on top of your links to make sure that customers do not get error notifications.
4. Last but not least, perhaps the most important tip on building an online presence for your company is to have content that is sticky and that will be so useful to your customers that they will either bookmark your site or come back time and again from memory. The goal is to offer unique content, articles, news, and other web content that your clients or customers will appreciate, use, and perhaps also pass on to others.

Steps to Profitable Auctions
Anyone can become a successful seller on eBay, provided he or she knows the tricks and tips to sell the right thing under right category at right time. Whatever be the tricks and tips of other successful sellers on eBay, there are few which are common and easy to follow to make you successful on eBay than the others selling similar or same items in other auctions happening simultaneously. The important points to remember are given below:
1. Conduct Proper Research On Items You Want To Sell: It is an important and first step before rushing to display your items. Check out in similar websites and even on eBay about the popularity and demand of the item you want to sell. Check out how often sellers display that item and other details.
2. Start with starting bids at the lowest: Starting the bids at low price will cost you less on listing fee. Further, you get encouragement for participation. In case, you know that the item would not fetch more bids, make sure you set the starting bid nearer to the minimum value you desire for sale. Also, avoid using reserve.
3. Thursday noon and evenings - the best timing to start your listings. Go for ten day listings: Make sure to run your bid for a period of 10 days and end it on Sunday, so that you get benefited by two weekends in terms of attracting bids. Ensure that you end the auctions somewhere between 7 and 10pm on a Sunday in Eastern timings or between 4 and 7pm in Pacific timings.
4. In case, you are needed to pay some money extra for preparing the listings before time and time the auction to start on Thursday evenings, go for it. Make sure that you are always prepared with your listings in advance and ready to go on scheduled time. Ensure that there is a time gap between the ending times of your listings.
5. Provide free of cost shipping, apart from confirmation of the delivery. You are eligible for charging on the shipping the goods you sell; however, if you can provide shipping free of cost, you get goodwill in exchange. Confirming delivery will allow you to conduct business in peace. Avoid free insurance; however, limit it to expensive products you sell, as it doesn't have much value. In case, your customers are interested in getting it, you can provide it as a customer-paid choice.
6. Provide refund guarantee: When you are sure that the item is not as described and fetch you a bad reputation. However, avoid this scheme if the customer is double-minded or commits a mistake.

EBay's Relationship With People And Companies - Good Or Bad
On one side, eBay tries to befriend the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of India, by offering few products for curbing the practices of cyber crimes culprits, for free. On the other hand, eBay maintains the challenge by pulling off all its advertisements from the Google's US search engine, as Google Inc., has decided to organize party for the sellers and buyers of eBay. At last, the bubbling pressures between Google and eBay have finally come out in public.
On the other hand, while eBay has proved the popular slogan "whatever you want sell, you can sell it at eBay "false, by removing one soldier's model displayed by Valiant Enterprises, it tries to maintain good relationships of developers, both internal and external, through its new initiative in the name of eBox.
Though, eBay has clearly mentioned in the policies that the items glorifying violence or hatred, creating religious or racial intolerance should not be listed on its website, people used to buying or selling at eBay would have probably got used to seeing lot of common and uncommon things at eBay. The removal of the figurine has come as a shock for many, particularly Tim Neckermann from Valiant Enterprises, who doesn't seem to agree the ban placed.
While this incident might have strained the relationship of eBay with many sellers selling such articles, eBay maintains good relationship with CID, India, by sending its representatives for conducting cyber crime awareness course for the officers of Deputy rank and below, on 24th July at Bhavani Bhavan. eBay's relationship with India has been good till date. Last year, it had released "eBay e-Commerce Guide" for creating awareness of e-Commerce to Internet users. They also emphasized on frauds in online shopping.
One of the eBay's long-term plan and goal are to create a dynamic e-Commerce system for transactions. This announcement got big orders to eBay from many companies that rely on the third party websites. After the development is complete, these companies will be able to connect to the backend of eBay. The best part of these APIs or Application Programming Interfaces is they are unlike other interfaces that require authentication.
eBay is not new to development, as it released the beta version of a new desktop application, San Dimas for testing, which has Adobe Integrated Runtime (AIR) built into it. Due to this combination, this tool's working is not controlled by the functionality of the browsers used.
Now, these issues raise the question if eBay is good or bad at maintaining relationship with its competitors, sellers and buyers. Further, it seems that the technical tools get along well with eBay better than people or companies. Whatever be the position, eBay still maintains better position in the minds of people, after the customers of Pearlman auction got frustrated during the time of picking up their items that they purchased through auction. Most of the customers feel that eBay is far more professional and customer-friendly than others.
How to Get the Benefits of Shopping Spots
Who doesn't love a bargain? In the increasingly competitive business environment, many retailers are really going the extra mile to make sure that customers keep coming back. Many supermarkets have implemented customer rewards programs that allow customers to enjoy special discounts on individual purchases and award prizes or additional discounts for repeat shopping.
Take the supermarket industry, for example. Many major supermarket chains have customer rewards programs, which are sometimes referred to as customer loyalty programs. Customers can sign up at no charge to participate in the program. Each week, sales are advertised which entitle participants in the rewards program to receive special discounts.
Supermarket rewards programs became very popular during the mid 1990s, and have evolved into sophisticated systems targeted and cultivating customer loyalty and earning a competitive advantage. While these rewards programs were originally implemented primarily as a means of gathering consumer data, they have evolved to a very sophisticated and successful marketing technique.
The supermarket rewards programs of today go way beyond just offering special discounts. Smart supermarket retailers know that savvy customers check sale items in the newspaper circulars each week in order to stretch their food budgets as far as possible. One of the strategies retailers have traditionally used to lure customers away from their competitors is to advertise very low loss-leader prices on a few popular items.
However, the sophisticated customer loyalty programs of today discourage consumers from shopping elsewhere by promising rewards for weekly shopping or spending volume. For example, Winn Dixie is known for offering free gas cards to rewards program members. To earn the gas card, customers must spend a specific dollar amount during a specific time frame.
With the high cost of gas, many customers choose to shop at Winn Dixie consistently in order to earn free gas cards. By offering a meaningful reward to customers, Winn Dixie reduces the likelihood that its customers might be lured away by a 2 for 1 deal offered by one of its competitors.
Bruno's and Food World, both owned and operated by the Albertson's supermarket chain also engage in promotional activities designed to cultivate customer loyalty. Among their most popular promotions is the Spiral Rewards program. Each year around the holidays, when people are doing a great deal of grocery shopping, these supermarkets offer a free spiral sliced ham to customers who collect a certain number of spiral rewards receipts.
The receipts are awarded based on a minimum purchase amount, and must be collected during subsequent weeks leading up to the particular holiday. Customers, who are probably planning to buy a ham anyway, think that it makes sense to do their shopping at these stores so that they can earn something they need for free.
Smart customers, of course, can benefit from participating in customer rewards programs. Supermarket retailers want your business, and they are determined to win your loyalty. If you get a free gas card or a free ham along the way, all the better for you!

Focus On Your Objective For Better Ebay Sales!
So many sales on Ebay are let down by poor photographs - here's a tip to set you apart from the rest!
As an eBay trader, I regularly visit many forums that contain sections on eBay trading - after all, these days it's big business. One of the biggest moans that I see, day in and day out, is regarding the quality of photos on eBay. It doesn't inspire confidence to buy if all a customer can see is a fuzzy, out-of-focus image! No matter how good your product or item is, send a bad photo out to promote it and you go to the bottom of the pile.
'One picture is worth a thousand words'. Never were truer words spoken when it comes to promoting your item! I have stressed in other articles that you must have good photos if you want to sell well - but it has occurred to me that I never told you how to get the best results from small items such as the ones I sell.
Larger items are easy. Smaller items - let's define them by saying that a 'smaller item' is no bigger than a wristwatch - can be difficult. Why? Well, to understand this point, you have to know a little about photography. Wait! Don't turn off - it's easy to understand and could make simply massive improvements to your work!
Okay - so what do you need to know? Photographers will be aware of the phrase I am about to use: it's called 'Depth Of Field'. What? Listen, it's easy to understand and, once you have grasped it, your small items will look good for ever.
Any camera - film or digital - uses a lens to collect and focus the light and image. On inexpensive 'snapshot' cameras the focal length - that is, the distance at which the camera will take sharp pictures - is fixed. Normally this 'fixed focus' is between three feet and infinity - as far as you can see. For close-up shots of our 'small items', many digital cameras (the ones we are really interested in) use a 'macro' setting.
This setting lets you take ultra close-ups. Whilst these are great, they have very little 'depth of field'. So what's that? Try to visualise this: your macro setting is designed to focus on the nearest thing to it - so by getting very close to your item you will have the front in focus but the back will be slightly blurred. The 'field' of focus can be as shallow as half an inch if you're really close! Here's a practical test -
Go get a teaspoon, or a small matchbox. Put it on the table. Go get your camera. Now turn on the macro and get in as close as you can - probably within an inch or two - and take a shot. Now - back off a foot and take another picture. Sure, the item won't look as big but - download it to your computer and see the difference.
The first shot will fill the frame but - hey, the near part is in focus and the rest looks a bit fuzzy! How about the second - well, it doesn't fill the frame so I'll crop it and - well, look at that. Sharp focus on all the item. Wow!
This is the 'Depth Of Field' effect. Macro settings are fine if you want to capture a tiny part of a very small image in tight focus - then you should get really close and click the shutter. However, if you want to take a full-focus shot of a fairly small item, you should back off and take your shot, cropping oit to the required size with your photo-editing software.
Result? A small item that is in full focus and looks terrific to your customers - and that's what you should have for every item you sell!
Setting Up an E-store
E-stores are the newest craze to hit the internet. Suddenly everyone is starting their own and some major companies, like Amazon and Ebay, are making it even easier to get started in ecommerce by offering ready-made e-stores. This means that you need to make sure you set your store up correctly and in a way that it will stand out from the crowd. Here exactly is how to do that:
First, you need an excellent product. Don't choose something that everyone else is already selling! You are looking for a niche market, something specific and popular, without the market being overrun. A good example would be pet accessories. Coats and jewelry for cats and dogs is a big thing these days, and while some competition will always exist, it is a fairly untapped market.
Once you have your product, you need a very good store. The best way to stand out from the competition is to not use a template. Instead of going with a standard setup like Ebay offers, you will be much better off designing your own e-store. Customizing colors and design just takes a little know-how that you can easily learn online or hire someone to do.
Keeping your store looking neat and clean, without excess graphics, and with a memorable logo, is a good way to keep visitors on your site. Fast loading pages will help, as well. Make all your information easily available and keep everything within two clicks of your home page, with a standard navigation bar available on all pages for easy access to everything. People like easy to navigate websites and will usually stay longer on such sites.
It doesn't have to be that complicated to set up a method of payment. There are plenty of payment services that offer merchant accounts and all you have to do is add the HTML buttons to your website so your customers can buy your products through an online shopping cart.
You will also want to invest in a good domain name. While the ideal domain name would be your e-store name that might not always be possible to find. Look for something that uses your main keywords if your title isn't available. Keep it to a maximum of 3 words long to make it an easy to remember URL and try for a .com ending as most people tend to remember that more than any other ending.
Now you have your store, your product and your domain name, all that remains is to promote. That is a whole other article!

Earning A Living Online - Is It Defining The New Millennium
With the creation of the internet by Al Gore, Ok, who pushed the idiot button? (Can I say that?)
There hasn't been anything that has stirred things up so radically across the U.S. and around the world as the internet has since the start of the industrial age in the mid 1800's when people started leaving their farms for the big cities to find work in industry.
Now, as if we were rolling back the calendar of time in the new millennium, people are working feverishly hard, spending free time at their computers, working evenings, late into the night, and weekends to achieve the ability to work at home again. All of this is due to the internet, which is creating more small business owners and entrepreneurs than ever before.
If one has a computer, access to the internet, and some spare time, he or she can have an internet business up and running in as little as 24hrs. That my friends is the ultimate in entrepreneurship.
Right now we are in what's called a paradigm shift and according to the numbers, a complete reversal in the workforce. This isn't going to happen overnight; however, it is estimated that somewhere around 70% of the people will ultimately work at home with a home business or a job. Furthermore, the remaining 30% will remain on the job in the workforce.
Now I don't know about you, but two incredibly gut wrenching words "job and workforce" were enough for me to decide that maybe I should look into this work at home business with a little different kind of mind set.
At this point in time there are thousands of people earning a living online. Will these workforce numbers begin to be seen as accurate? That's truly hard to say. Looking back, not so long ago, "they" said that no one would ever want to have a personal computer in their home. Is that one still kind of up in the air for everyone?
Oh, and they (who are "they" anyway?) stated that no one would ever need, want, or use a cell phone. Their reasoning, "Because who would want to be able to be found at anytime or anywhere." I don't know about you, but my teenage daughter starts getting real fidgety when her phone gets below 20 minutes of airtime. "Dad, what am I going to do? How are my friends going to able get a hold of me? What if they can't find me? Dad, I need more minutes!" Now, I can't look into those big beautiful blues eyes and say no, so I start running. Yes, she costs me a fortune and she's worth every penny.
With these extreme examples of missing the mark, you may indeed be looking at one that "they" may actually come close with. The estimated number of people who will be earning a living online is expected to jump to 15 million by 2008.
At this point you may be thinking, "This is all fine and jim dandy, but where do I fit in on the grand scale of things?" Actually, the opportunities are boundless. With a few pivotal pointers, some revealing suggestions, and your willingness to learn and seek direction, the opportunities are unlimited. The most critical part to your success, is to stay focused on one business and make it work. You cannot achieve success by jumping from one hot market to the next.
A good business example is the resell rights market, which is a favorite to many because of it's low start up cost. A brief explanation: resell rights are your ability to purchase rights to other peoples products. It doesn't matter if those rights are to reports, software, e-books or many other information marketing products, you may sell them and keep 100% of the profits for yourself.
A fantastic deal for sure, most resell rights will come with a ready made sales page, header and graphics already done for you, as you can see getting started in the resell rights business is truly and entrepreneurs dream.
Because we are in the information age, information marketing products are hot and people are looking for information and immediate answers. They want everything now! The internet has created an information hungry society. What are people looking for? If you can name it, you can get it. More importantly you can sell it and profit from your sells. Now, if that doesn't fire up your imagination, find someone to check your pulse.
Several people may be sitting on the fence, undecided about whether or not they really want to be earning a living online. Yes you will face challenges, yes you will grow, and yes with perseverance and tenacity you will succeed.
There is a treasure trove of information to be had on the internet. The truly underlining allure is your ability to test the waters, without actually jumping in tush first (misprint). You are able to continue with your number one source of income, and begin a part time business with as little as a few hours a week added to your current schedule.
The old saying, "nothing ventured, nothing gained", is only a tantalizing clue to the adventures the cyberspace world may hold in store for you. Put on that entrepreneur cap and let the magical mystery tour begin. Take action now, it's your future. Are you going to be the one who will say that earning a living online has defined the new millennium for you?
Ebay Powerseller Secrets And Tips
Ebay Powerseller is a public recognized symbol. It shows the seller is trustworthy and experienced in selling on ebay. Most importantly, he is making a good living from eBay auction business.
I have compiled a list of ebay powerseller secrets so that you can learn from their experiences.
1. Offer easy payment options for buyers: It is your responsibility to increase the ways of accepting payments online. It will drive up the sales if you offer more payment options.
2. Use Paypal as your first choice of payment: Paypal is by far the most popular online payment service, especially on ebay. It offers security for both buyers and sellers to protect from online fraud. You should sign up for a free Paypal account now.
3. Use a dedicated email account for your online auction: You will look more professional if you have an appropriate email account that deals with all your online orders and enquiries.
4. Always use signature in your email: This is an effective branding strategy and it is a good opportunity to sell more items to your existing customers.
5. Compile a list of FAQ: It saves you time without answering the same questions from buyers.
6. Conduct your market research according to the trends on eBay: You need to constantly look out for the hottest items to sell on eBay. Check out eBay calendar for particular themes of the month. Pay special notice on what other people are selling.
7. Write decent ads: Your ads need to look neat and simple. Don't confuse your buyers. Be honest when you are describing your items. You will increase your chance of getting positive feedbacks in that way. In addition, check your spelling and grammars before you put up your ads.
8. Use automation: If you have a seller pro subscription, you can automate a lot of things, such as emails, feedbacks, and newsletters. It saves you a great deal of time so you can concentrate on other things.
9. Clear policy on shipping and handling: Be very clear on instructions after sales, such as shipping, handling, postage, etc. Your customers will appreciate that greatly. Also, it will be better if you can provide a tracking code for your customers to track the shipment. Don't overcharge your shipping fees.
10. Use quality pictures: You should use multiple pictures whenever possible. It is proven to increase your sales and attract more bids. Please take quality pictures with your digital camera in an appropriate background.
11. Relist your unsold items:You should relist your unsold items since eBay don't charge you again if the item is sold later. Don't create a new listing for the same item.
12. Use different features of listing appropriately:EBay offers different types of listing features, such as bold, highlight, border, feature plus, etc. They all have different price and some of them are not cheap. You should use them appropriately after weighing against the potential profits in the sale.
13. Never use reserve option: So far I haven't seen any successful auction using reserve option. No one wants to bid on items with reserved price. If you don't want to lose your profits, simply raise your starting bid.
14. Use ten days auction and gallery option frequently: These are two of mine most favorite options for listing. They are proven to work. Use them often.
There you have it. Hope the above tips are helpful to you.
Tips On Choosing A Domain Name For Ecommerce
Choosing the right domain name is an important foundation for any ecommerce business. Not only should it be memorable and relevant to your target audience, but there are specific considerations relating to search engine optimization, as well as implications associated with the domain name extension itself.
More so than a simple, offline street address, domain names can convey a lot of information to your prospects. Fortunately, this is something you have a lot of control over. Whereas you cannot rename a street, you can define your web address, within the limits of what is available. Because prospects cannot see your site in directory and search listings, the domain name should communicate the nature of your site, and if possible, something of your business.
When brainstorming a domain name, start with your main keyword. Whilst it's not essential to include this in the final name, doing so serves two purposes. First, it tells your visitors what they can expect. It identifies your site as being relevant to their inquiry, and it also helps search engine bots determine the relevance of your site. Whilst no-one truly knows what goes into a search engine's ranking algorithm, most of the sites in the top 30 tend to include their main keyword in the domain name for a given query.
Keywords are not enough, however. Simply stringing keywords together creates a very weak domain name. It tends to be cumbersome, and poorly remembered. Try to thing of a way to convey some value or description of your site, in as few words as possible. If you can create a short phrase, perhaps three words, including your keyword, then it will sound both memorable and natural. For example, my sister called her site "Sane Parenting". My business website is called "Pick The Business".
This exercise requires a little lateral thinking. It can be a good idea to use a thesaurus to find synonyms as many combinations are already taken. Unfortunately, this is the case with a lot of two word combinations, although with a little patience you can still find some good ones.
The best domain extension to choose is generally .com, though there are exceptions to this rule. The reason you should opt for .com in most cases is because this is the extension that most people default to when they try and remember web addresses. If you choose a different extension, perhaps .biz or .org, you will potentially lose some traffic to the .com extension as people mistakenly type in that url. Conversely, if you own the .com extension, this can be to your benefit.
Country specific domain names are another case entirely, particularly if you have a business that is not global. They essentially act as a filter, and can deliver more targeted traffic. If your business is global, however, this filtering could have a detrimental effect, as people may assume you don't service their country. In that case, choosing a .com extension would be better.
Avoid using dashes and numbers in your domain name. They are hard to remember, and look cumbersome. There are no search engine advantages to using dashes, if anything, the opposite. In any case, you will probably lose traffic as people are likely to forget to type them in. Numbers can be easily confused, as they can be spelled or written numerically. And they don't look professional.
If you can create a domain name that communicates the intent of your business, or a sense of your business' values, then you assist your visitors in remembering it, as well as creating a favorable first impression. And if you're looking at selling your domain name (or site) further down the track, short domain names that are catchy always fetch higher prices.
Something New from eBay & Testing the ebay Waters
Before going swimming, sometimes you walk to the edge of the pool and just stick one toe in to test the waters before you take the plunge, right? Maybe you go to the shallow end, step in and wade toward the deep end just to be sure you know where the drop-off is, dont you? You dont want any nasty little surprises or risk drowning. Thats a very good idea. A little caution is a good thing when it comes to swimming pools and other unfamiliar situations like buying and selling on ebay.
You may have been looking for a way to make a little extra income or even looking for an opportunity to start your own online business. Whatever your goal, buying and selling on ebay may be the answer you are looking for. To get started buying and selling on ebay, you dont have to jump feet first into the deep end of the pool. You can stick one toe in or wade slowly toward the deep end from the shallowest part of the ebay pool.
To test the ebay waters:
1.Go to the ebay website and just look around. Poke around in the corners. See what kinds of items are being bought and sold.
2.Get an ebay buyers account. Go through the whole procedure so that you will understand what your (eventual) customers will be doing or have already done.
3.Bid on an item that is being auctioned so that you well understand the auction procedure and know exactly what transpires when a customer wins a bid, as well as, what happens when a customer loses a bid.
4.Get a sellers account.
5.Dig something out of your attic and list it for sale on ebay.
6.Ship the item to the winning bidder.
Once you have successfully sold one item on ebay, you will know how to swim in the ebay pool.
Something New from eBay:
Ebay got it so right the first time that over the years there have been very few additions to or changes made in the original. That says a lot about the planning that went into the site in the beginning. When eBay bought Paypal in 2002 it was a big step and one of the very few changes that have ever been made. It was an excellent business decision that has proven to be very beneficial to buyers and sellers on eBay not to mention the bottom line of the corporation itself.
Then in January of 2006 eBay made another change. This one has proven to be beneficial to buyers and sellers that make use of the eBay website as well. This big change is called the eBay Express. eBay Express puts emphasis on new merchandise and creates a little distance between eBay and online flea markets. However, the site does say that there is new, used and refurbished items that are for sale.
All of the items that are listed under eBay Express will have fixed prices. The auction has been an eBay standard from its inception but eBay Express does not have an auction alternative selection. There is a shopping cart available so that customers can make multiple purchases from the same seller. This has been a feature that has been lacking.
The requirements for sellers to use the eBay Express option are fairly stringent. It isnt open to just anybody. A seller is required to have a feedback score of at least 98% and it must be public rather than private feedback. Additionally there is a requirement that a seller must have a Paypal Premier or Business account that is set to ship to unconfirmed addresses. Sellers are also required to state shipping costs.

How To Succeed At Telemarketing
Success in telemarketing is a tricky business. You must appeal to potential customers, who probably have not heard of your before. You must begin with a large base of potential customers and weed out all those not interested. This takes time and money. This business is unforgiving, but it can be lucrative for those with good people skills who work diligently. You must have a willingness to adapt to the market.
Target Potential Consumers
Find a large group of people, who might fit the demographic for your product. If you have information on the customer utilize it. Appeal to their interests from the beginning. Do not exploit. Instead analyze the public and find people who might just be looking for you.
Guide Associates
Work with your associates on a daily basis to teach them things. Find out what's working and use it. Trial and error is the only way to improve your ability to market products. Listen to the customer on the phone and key into their needs. Realize that each customer is an individual and has individual needs. Avoid being pushy or using fear or intimidation. However strong language is a must.
Strong Language
Tell them the benefits of your product and how it can be an asset to their personal lives or business. Be professional. Starting out with speaking of low prices is a fast way to rejection. Appeal to the need before the pocket book. Let them know that they can think about it. They don't have to make a decision on the spot. This is where your number or website can come in handy.
Expect rejection and hope for the best. If someone says they will think about it get their name and number and follow up on potentially interested customers later. Try to sound as friendly, caring, and interested as possible. Do not harass. Ask them if they have any questions. Many times people will suspect your credibility. This often a good time to have a website to refer to. If they are really concerned they can call the Better Business Bureau.
Importance Of A Website
The importance of this cannot be understated. Refer them to individuals you have done business with through the website. Build a long list of good references. Pictures of the products, the associates, and maybe even your place of business all have a place on the website along with your address and phone number.
Location
Establish a location where they can come down and see you. This should preferably be nearby them or you can set up a spot nearby them. You may want to have information packets in addition to a website. Different people have different learning styles.
Incentives For Employees
Your associates should always be encouraged to make as many sales as possible. Coffee on the job can be a good way to keep them motivated and on task. If an associate is frustrated or having a hard time take a moment to let them know you value their work. Give incentives to the top performers. Pair up the top performers with new employees to show the new employees good strategy.

Benefits Of Interactive Engagement On An Internet Business
One of the most important factors in an Internet business and one that is getting a lot of emphasis and a lot of help is the idea that customers want to be engaged. They dont want to be receptacles for the information of the Internet business. Instead they want to be able to converse in real time, to offer their ideas and have them heard and to be able to make purchases instantaneously. They want instant access to the Internet home business staff, to its sales staff, its customer service staff and perhaps most importantly, its technical support or help desk.
Technical vendors offer a lot of opportunity for an Internet business owner to offer this interactivity and engagement and at little cost and virtually no risk. Some products such as live chat and click to call can be purchased as a revenue share. What this means is that the home business owner can collaborate with a vendor to offer these services and let the vendor take a portion of the proceeds that these products help bring in the door.
A live chat feature on a home business Web site can give an entrepreneur an incredible competitive advantage. A consumer who has a question can simply click on the live chat and converse with the business representative in real time. Some of the latest presence aware products are great for the small Internet home business owner who doesnt have the staff to offer live chat. What the presence aware function does is signal the system when the business is available for a chat and display the icon on the site but remove the icon when no one is there for a chat.
Click to call is just what the name suggests. With just a click of the mouse on the site of the Internet business a consumer can call a business representative by phone from her or his computer at no charge to the consumer.
Other interactive offerings that help an Internet home business merchant make that sale are Buy Now and Ask the Seller features. Buy Now is an ecommerce function that lets the consumer add items to her or his shopping cart, check out and make a credit card payment all from the Internet. Other handy features allow consumers to rate a product or a merchant.
All these interactive and engaging features offer the consumer the instant gratification folks have come to expect from the Web and offer the Internet home business owner instant payment and thats all terrific.
